Opera for Everyone

Bel Canto Seattle was founded by tenor John Costello to provide opportunities for performers to experience the magic of singing opera and classical music in front of a live audience. It’s also important to make the art form accessible to access for everyone. Opera is too expensive not only financially, but the expectation that you should be required to look a certain way.

This project was not founded to be a project for one singer, but a movement for an entire community, and beyond. Unless action is taken to make wholesale changes in the art form, stagnation will continue to dominate the genre.

We’re here to change that. And we’re here to stay.
