Opera for Everyone

Bel Canto Seattle was founded by tenor to provide opportunities for performers to experience the magic of singing opera and classical music in front of a live audience. It’s also important to make the art form accessible to access for everyone. Opera is too expensive not only financially, but the expectation that you should be required to look a certain way.

With Bel Canto Seattle I wanted to create a project that I wished had existed when I started out singing. A group that’s really focused on getting singers opportunities, and a community centered around accessible and affordable performances and timeless recordings.  The goal has been to pay singers fairly and on time, keep performances affordable for opera fans, newer and more experienced, and to cutout the gatekeepers, and auditions, completely.

Opera for Everyone means come as you are.  You don't need a tux, a gown, or fancy shoes to enjoy our music.  Accessible doesn't mean “not as good”, or watered down.  It means: Music from the heart.  And Opera, from the soul.
